Israel Joins List Of People And Nations To Nominate Trump For Nobel Peace Prize

During a meeting at the White House on Monday, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu appeared to surprise President Donald Trump.

It was Netanyahu’s third visit with Trump since the start of the president’s second term and his first since the United States bombed Iranian nuclear sites last month.

Before those strikes, Trump’s Middle East envoy, Steve Witkoff, had been preparing for talks with Iranian officials in Oman. But those negotiations collapsed after Netanyahu ordered strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities, scientists, and top military targets.

That decision reportedly came after President Trump had asked him not to launch an attack. Despite that, the president appeared impressed with the Israeli strikes and then ordered his own—this time using 30,000-pound bombs that the Israelis did not have.

Trump and Netanyahu later met in front of reporters at the White House, surrounded by their teams.

The Israeli prime minister began by praising the president before offering him a surprise gift.

“I want to express the appreciation and admiration not only of all Israelis, but of the Jewish people, and many, many admirers around the world for your leadership, your leadership of a free world, your leadership of a just cause, and the pursuit of peace and security which you are leading in many lands now, especially in the Middle East,” Netanyahu said.

“We have great opportunities. The president has an extraordinary team. And I think our teams together make an extraordinary combination to meet challenges and seize opportunities. But the president has already realized great opportunities. He forged the Abraham Accords. He’s forging peace as we speak in one country and one region after the other.

“So, I want to present to you, Mr. President, the letter I sent to the Nobel Prize committee,” he continued.

“It’s nominating you for the Peace Prize, which is well-deserved. And you should get it,” Netanyahu said.

Trump looked visibly surprised.

“Thank you very much. This, I didn’t know. Wow. Thank you very much,” the president said.

“Thank you,” Netanyahu replied.

“Coming from you in particular, this is very meaningful. Thank you very much, Bibi,” Trump said.

“Thank you. Thank you for everything you’re doing,” Netanyahu responded.

And Israel is not the only nation that has nominated the president for the coveted award.

Pakistan announced that it will formally nominate President Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize for his role in brokering a peace deal that ended the recent conflict between itself and India.

The Pakistani government has credited Trump with bringing an end to a dangerous four-day conflict that saw both sides launch military strikes earlier this year.

Back in May, the two nuclear-armed rivals appeared to be on the brink of full-scale war after each side hit military targets inside the other’s territory.

The crisis began on April 22, when an Islamist militant group killed dozens of Hindu tourists in Indian administered Jammu and Kashmir, the disputed region that has fueled decades of tensions between the two nations.

India blamed Pakistan for offering cover to the militants, alleging that the attackers were linked to Pakistan-based groups Jaish-e-Mohammed and Lashkar-e-Taiba. Pakistan has denied the claims.

The standoff escalated sharply on May 7, when India launched a wave of air and missile strikes on Pakistani military sites. Pakistan retaliated with its own strikes a few days later.

Then, in a major diplomatic breakthrough, both sides agreed to stand down on May 10.

Pakistan is openly praising Trump’s leadership during the talks.

“President Trump demonstrated great strategic foresight and stellar statesmanship through robust diplomatic engagement with both Islamabad and New Delhi, which de-escalated a rapidly deteriorating situation,” the Pakistani government said. “This intervention stands as a testament to his role as a genuine peacemaker.”
